Irish Week Kicks Off March 15

Irish Week kicks off on March 15 with a sold-out Irish Week proclamation luncheon. Don't miss the Pirates Landing at 5 p.m. in Lake Union Park, a historical reenactment of St. Patrick's arrival in Ireland. Then, witness the Laying of the Green Stripe at Jefferson Street and Fourth Avenue at 7 p.m., a special tribute to late Seattle business owner John Doyle Bishop. The same spot will be the starting point for the St. Patrick's Day Parade at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Cap off Irish Week with the grand Irish Festival at Seattle Center on Saturday and Sunday. From noon to 6 p.m. on March 16 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 17, the Armory will come alive with traditional Irish music, step-dancing, and engaging workshops. Learn about everything from crafting tin whistles to exploring genealogy and Irish literature.

How about venturing through the outdoors and enjoying the "green?"

For those craving outdoor adventures in the "green," Discovery Park awaits. This 534-acre park in the Magnolia neighborhood boasts 11.81 miles of walking trails, including the National Recreation Trail-designated Discovery Park Loop Trail, spanning 2.8 miles through picturesque landscapes.
